Football news and rumors Week 3

With NFL Week 3 football games coming up, it is good to know what updates, news, and rumors are floating around, so you can better prepare yourself if your favorite team has an injured player, or is getting a player back from suspension or injury. There are other great news going around dealing with specific players, as well as one team in particular that is taking the sport to a whole other level, the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Injury Reports

The New York Giants won’t be having such a good time this week either, as wide receiver Victor Cruz is out due to a calf injury, as well as cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie with a concussion. Both of them will miss Thursday’s game against the Redskins. This would be their chance to get a win after going 0-2 so far.

Philadelphia Eagles running back DeMarco Murray had to leave practice early due to a hamstring injury. The injury, although not considered serious, will probably force Murray to sit out during Sunday’s game against the Jets. On the other hand, the New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis was held out of practice with a groin injury, and his participation is also questionable.

Houston Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins missed practice on Wednesday due to a concussion that he suffered during the team’s loss against the Panthers last Sunday. He may not be able to play against the Buccaneers during Sunday’s game.

Returning Players

The Jets do have some good news as quarterback Geno Smith was able to participate in full practice and may be active when they play against the Eagles.

St. Louis Rams running back Todd Gurley is no longer listed on the injury report and could make his NFL debut on Sunday against the Steelers. The Rams, going 1-1 so far, have a tough week, and having Gurley on offense will certainly help improve their chances.

Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten seems to be healthy enough, after suffering two sprained ankles and a sprained knee during last week’s game, and may be eligible to play against the Falcons on Sunday.

Interesting News

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and the rest of the Pittsburhg Steelers are ready for this week’s game, and are one of the leading NFL teams to successfully attempt two-point conversions this season, going 3-for-3. They will continue using this aggressive tactic, as it has been working for them on the football field.
