Betting on the Power Rankings

As we move into Week 16, the Power Rankings become more and more useful when betting, as well as seeing which teams have better odds of getting into the Playoffs. With only two more weeks in the regular season, teams now know that performing well will ensure their spot. Take a look at this week’s power rankings to see which teams have improved.

Rank Team Record Previous Rank
Panthers 14-0 1
Cardinals 12-2 2
Patriots 12-2 3
Steelers 9-5 6
Bengals 11-3 4
Packers 10-4 7
Seahawks 9-5 8
Broncos 10-4 5
Chiefs 9-5 9
Jets 9-5 10
Vikings 9-5 11
Redskins 7-7 15
Texans 7-7 13
Raiders 6-8 14
Giants 6-8 17
Falcons 7-7 27
Buccaneers 6-8 18
Bills 6-8 16
Eagles 6-8 12
Jaguars 5-9 21
Colts 6-8 20
Rams 6-8 26
Saints 5-9 22
Bears 5-9 19
Dolphins 5-9 23
Lions 5-9 25
Chargers 4-10 28
Ravens 4-10 29
Cowboys 4-10 24
49ers 4-10 31
Titans 3-11 30
Browns 3-11 32

You can notice how some of the more highly claimed teams at the start of the season have fallen far down the rank, like Andrew Luck and the Colts who would be very lucky if they got a Wild Card spot. Three games to look out for when betting:

Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens: Ravens +10. The Ravens are a huge underdog in this game, but it looks like their defense is right on par with the Steelers, which could give them the slight advantage.

Cincinnati Bengals at Denver Broncos: Broncos -3.5. The Broncos are given the slight advantage as their defense is the best in the league, so it would be hard for the Bengals offense to best them, especially on the road.

Indianapolis Colts at Miami Dolphins: Colts +1.5. Even though the Colts have not been doing as well as most would have hoped, this game seems to be theirs. The Dolphins defense is horrible, and even Matt Hasselbeck can’t overcome that.
