There are two ACC teams that really stand out from the others, and it is no surprise that they are favored to win their Conference Championship. University of North Carolina and Clemson University are the two teams that are already starting to cause an impact during this NCAA football season. The UNC Tar Heels have been showing tons of promise, as their offense keeps getting stronger and stronger, which was proven in their 62-0 blowout over Elon. Along with this offensive mastery, the Tar Heels defense managed to shut down the Elon offense; which could very well repeat itself in the future. This is only one game, but their new 4-2-5 defensive lineup has been proving to be very effective.

Clemson may not have as good stats as some of the other ACC teams, but they are on a path to winning. Thanks to Andre Ellington and his 25 carries for 228 yards during their win against Auburn, their running game has proven to be very dangerous.

One team on the Fall

One of the bigger contenders for the ACC title was the Florida State Seminoles, but after a few injuries they have not been having a great start.

Underdog ACC Teams

It is always good to know which teams are the usual underdogs, especially if those teams have improved since last season and are ready to start turning heads. One of these underdogs is Virginia Tech. They were able to beat Georgia Tech in their first match of the season, and they have shown lots of potential with Linebacker Jack Tyler and Kicker Cody Journell; both of which posted up amazing results during the match.

The other underdog team that has been showing potential is the Duke Blue Devils. Their offense has been improving thanks to senior Conner Vernon and his 10 catches for 180 yards; along with one touchdown catch. The Blue Devils may end up having a great last year for Vernon. Their defense was also able to hold back the Florida International University offense, achieving the final score of 46-26. Duke may not be one of the biggest underdogs the ACC has, but when it comes to harder match-ups, Duke will certainly be trailing in that regard.

Keep an eye out for these two underdogs as they continue to surprise everyone.
